SHARE.        DEVELOP.        PROVIDE.        TRANSFORM
TRANSFORM Communities. . .we want God’s will as it’s done in heaven to be done down here in
Hartford.  So as Christ finds new homes in more and more hearts of Hartford residents we will work
to expand the impact of HCM as an agent of justice and peace in our community, striving for:
reductions in crime; improvements in education; less poverty; more jobs; fewer boarded up
buildings; and more block parties.  The goal of the prophet Nehemiah was to rebuild & revive the
whole city of Jerusalem – our vision is no less for Hartford.

Children's Ministry Director - Leah - tending the carrots of the vine
CAMP NOAH

In May, Hartford City Mission hired its first Children's Ministry Director,
Leah ‘Locked Down on Jesus’ Prescott
(aka ‘Lockedown’ to distinguish
her from Lia Lee, our Noah’s Art instructor and Vine Community member).
Leah is an active member of Union Baptist church, one of Hartford’s oldest
African-American congregations, which, like HCM, is also based in Hartford’s
northend.  Leah has been a leader in Union’s children's ministry.

Leah’s first initiative is
Camp Noah, HCM’s first-ever summer camp for
northend kids
from 1st - 5th grades. Camp Noah kicked off on June 16th,
Hartford YoungLife is on break for the summer.
Summer Service Project Dates: June 21, July 26.
Meet at the Vine at 10am to help.
YoungLife Camp: August 12 -17, 2008.
